PROSPECT — Rodney E. Drown, 50, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Susan L. (Dumschott) Drown whom he was married to for 26 years.

Rodney was born March 31, 1967 in Waterbury, son of Phoebe J. (Ostrom) Drown and Robert F. Drown Sr. of Fort Meyers, Fla.

Rodney held a variety of jobs in his life, at the time of his passing he was a driver for the Tristate Equipment Company. He was a member the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Naugatuck and was a huge NASCAR fan. Rodney loved all the kids in his life. No matter the task or plan, he was there to help from beginning to end. Rodney loved going vacation with his family and staying up all night talking to his kids. On the weekends, you could find him sitting on the couch with coffee in hand watching old western movies. Rodney had a huge passion for Country music. On his way down the road, all you’d hear is Country 92.5 blaring through his truck windows.

Besides his wife and mother he is survived by his daughter, Makayla F. Drown of Naugatuck; a son, Joshua D. Drown of Prospect; and his four brothers, Robert F. Drown Jr. of Naugatuck, Roger C. Drown of Naugatuck, David Drown of Naugatuck and Eric Drown of Waterbury. Rodney also leaves behind 26 nieces and nephews along with 12 great-nieces and nephews.

Calling hours for Rodney Drown will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017 at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St., Naugatuck. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
