NAUGATUCK — Robert J. Fortin, 59, passed away on Monday, Nov. 20, 2017.
He was born in Waterbury on July 18, 1958, son of Genevieve (Czarzasty) Truyens of Naugatuck. A lifelong Naugatuck resident, Bob graduated from Naugatuck High School, and had worked at Platt Brothers in Waterbury.
Besides his loving mother, Genevieve, he leaves his sister, Frances Ann Smith of Waterbury; his niece, Jennifer Smith; his nephew, Joshua Smith; and his aunt, Hedwig Normand of Middlebury. Bob was predeceased by his father, Anthony Truyens.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, to St. Hedwig Church, 32 Golden Hill St., Naugatuck, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
