PROSPECT — Robert E. Lamontagne, 75, of Prospect, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of Gloria Yvonne (Bouthot) Lamontagne.

Mr. Lamontagne was born in Waterbury on Jan. 27, 1941, son of the late Ernest and Catherine (Wallace) Lamontagne. He was retired after working for many years as a master carpenter and was a communicant of St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Prospect. He formerly served as the volunteer chairman of the Connecticut Make-A-Wish Foundation and was a member of the FCRV Lamplighters Camping Club. He was an avid New York Yankees and UConn womens basketball fan and loved Vito’s Pizza.

Mr. Lamontagne proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Lamontagne is survived by a daughter, Terriann Abarzua and her husband, Nelson, of Wolcott; three sons, Robert E. Lamontagne II and his wife, Ethna, of Rocky Hill, Jeffrey A. Lamontagne and his wife, Dawn, of Prospect, and Scott J. Lamontagne of Prospect; a sister, Joan Klem of Waterbury; six grandchildren, Trevor, Macie, Dylan, Jeffrey, Brae and Jacob, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Kenneth Klem.

Mr. Lamontagne’s funeral will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. from the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect to St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect for a mass at 1 p.m. Burial with Naval honors will be in Prospect Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m.
