Richard Francis Fucci, Sr., 80, of N. Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Naugatuck, Conn., passed away after a long illness on March 22, 2017 in N. Fort Myers. Richard was born on May 6, 1936 in New Haven, Conn., to the late Dominick C. and Dorothy E. (nee Patterson) Fucci. He retired from Local 777 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union.
Richard had a love for coins, Sudoku and crossword puzzles. He was always quick with a joke and loved to strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He was member of the Elks 2742, American Legion 336, and the Loyal Order of Moose 2199.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife Gladys “Irene” (nee Sweeney) Fucci, of N. Fort Myers formerly Naugatuck, Conn. Loving children, Richard Jr. (Lisa) of Thomaston, Conn., David of Branford, Conn., Joanne (nee DiNapoli) (Demetrios “Jim”) Kallipolites of Naugatuck, Conn.; Randy (Denise) of North Haven, Conn., Elizabeth (James) Corso of Fairfield, Conn.; dear brothers, Raymond (Francine), Russell, Ronald, Donald (Barbara), Robert (Beverly), Gerald (Maureen “Bonnie”). He is also survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will hold services to honor Richard privately.
