CHESHIRE — Mr. Raymond Ronald Rosa, 83, of Cheshire, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2014 at the Silver Springs Care Center in Meriden. He was the beloved husband of the late Paula (Ashe) Rosa.

Mr. Rosa was born in Waterbury on May 10, 1931 a son of the late Joseph and Anna Mary (Rainer) Rosa. He was retired from Scovill Manufacturing where he had worked as a master welder for many years and was a communicant of St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Prospect. He was an automotive mechanic, car enthusiast and an avid NASCAR fan.

Mr. Rosa proudly served our country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Navy.

Mr. Rosa is survived by five daughters, Jeanne Wall and her husband, Charles, of John’s Creek, Ga., Paula Lawless of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Sharon Muthig and her husband, James, of Cheshire, Sandra Thompson of Cheshire and Vicki Rosa of Naugatuck; a son, Raymond Rosa of Waterbury; a brother, Richard Rosa and his wife, Jill, of Thomaston; seven grandchildren that he loved dearly, Matthew Yacoub, Jamie Yacoub, Valerie Muthig, Whitney Muthig, Sarah Thompson, Sondra Holtz and Erik Holtz and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Rosa and Joseph Rosa.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect to St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect for a mass at 10 a.m. Burial with full military honors will be in Prospect Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m.
