WINSTED — Peter Thomas (Schieffer) Freigant, 63, husband of Barbara I. Freigant, died peacefully on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017 at Hartford Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Peter was born on May 26, 1954 in Waterbury, the son of late John L. and Louise (Deschene) Schieffer. Peter was a graduate of W. F. Kaynor Tech School and was a talented and passionate carpenter. Peter was also talented at refurbishing classic cars for his business, carswithmusclesbypbeez.com. Peter enjoyed attending car shows and spending time with his family.
Peter is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 22 years and his children, Scott and Andrew Schieffer, Timothy Freigant, Beth Nemic; his grandchildren, Benjamin and Daniel Nemic, Ann, Ethan Zachary Freigant; his siblings, Louise Ann Pullen, Jean Beard, John Schieffer Jr., Paul Schiffer, Martin Schieffer, Denise Skrip, Elaine Schieffer, and Irene Stankus, and his sister-in-law, Ginette Wurst.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017 at 7 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck. Calling hours are Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
