NAUGATUCK — Paulo G. “Paul” Cunha, 48, died peacefully on June 20, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital.

Paul was born on May 9, 1970 in Jamaica Queens, N.Y., the son of Margarida Tavares Cunha and the late Henrique Cunha. Paul worked as a network engineer in the medical field and was also a certified mechanic. He loved hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle; he was a master diver and an NRA instructor. Paul was a member and past two-term president of the Clube Uniao Portuguesa and a member and eagles riders road captain of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 640.

Paul is survived by his mother and his stepfather, Margarida Cunha and Wilfredo Martinez; his fiancée, Mariann Vallillo; his stepson, Shawn Waldhauser; his uncle, Cesare Oliveira; his aunt, Ana Aresta; and his many cousins and countless friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 25 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury. Everyone is asked to please meet at church. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
