NAUGATUCK — Norene A. Snyder, 86, the widow of Kermit M. “Dutch” Snyder, passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 24, 2015 in the VITAS Hospice Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Snyder was born Nov. 9, 1928 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Anne (Soden) (Holland) Lokites and stepdaughter of Joseph Lokites, and had lived all of her life in Naugatuck. Norene was a registered nurse who worked her entire nursing career at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury.
Mrs. Snyder is survived by her daughter, Susan K. Snyder of Naugatuck; her daughter, Patricia Weeden and her husband, David, of Hallowell, Maine; her brother, William Wade Holland and his wife, Lucille, of Spring Hill, Fla.; her grandsons, Gary, Paul and Timothy Weeden; her great-granddaughters, Dana, Ivi and Tricia Weeden, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Snyder was predeceased by her brothers, Phillip and John Holland and her sister, Nancy Holland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at The Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave.
