Mitchell Phillip Grusz

SEYMOUR — Mitchell Phillip Grusz, 88, of Seymour, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017 at Shady Knoll Health Center. He was born in Pine Island, N.Y. on August 15, 1928, to the late Peter and Josephine Kalbarczyk Grusz.

Mitchell grew up farming on the family’s dairy and vegetable farm before leaving to serve in the Korean War. After returning home and settling in Seymour with his brothers and sisters, Mitchell took on the trade of carpentry. Most of all, he loved to go to the many family gatherings and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mitchell was a devout Roman Catholic and served as a deacon at the Church of the Good Shepherd of Seymour.

Mitchell’s family extends their thanks to Shady Knoll Health Center and their staff for all their care given to him during his residency. He will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts.

Mitchell’s loving family includes his brothers, Casimir Grusz and Walter Grusz, and his wife, Irene, all of Seymour, and many nieces and nephews. Mitchell was predeceased by his sisters, Josephine Grusz Bigert, Stasia Grusz Supranovich, Bertha Grusz Kudasik, Anna Grusz Haversat, Jennie Grusz, Eleanor Grusz Wasko, Florence Grusz Magaldi; and his brothers Frank Grusz, Henry Grusz, Edward Grusz, Peter Grusz, Jr., and Joseph Grusz.
