NAUGATUCK — Mildred D. Wilton, 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 at Glendale Center.

Mildred was born on June 1, 1922 in New Milford, a daughter of the late Homer and Sylvia (Erwin) Davenport, and had lived in Naugatuck for the past 14 years. Mildred was a retired employee of the State of Connecticut, having worked at Southbury Training School. She enjoyed knitting, cards, puzzle books, and scratching lottery tickets. She was an avid fan of all game shows and the Atlanta Braves. She was a strong woman who never complained and had a love for family and friends who will dearly miss her.

Mildred is survived by her sons, Paul Wilton and his wife, Carol, of Naugatuck, and David Wilton and his wife, Margaret, of Tennessee; her brother, George Davenport and his wife, Shirley, of Poultney, Vt; her grandchildren, James Duda (Tammie), Chris Duda (Amy), David Wilton (Carrie), Shannon Duda, Jennifer Wilton, Jessica Wilton and Justin Wilton; her 12 great-grandchildren; her son-in-law, Guy Harvey, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her daughter, Jane Duda Harvey.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Glendale Center for their compassion and kindness they have shown towards Mildred “Millie Vinillie.”

Calling hours will be Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck. Funeral Services will be private.
