PROSPECT — Matthew James Szyndlar, 19, of Prospect died Sunday, May 3, 2015 in Waterbury of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Matthew was born in Waterbury on Jan. 15, 1996, a son of James Szyndlar and JoAnn Baummer of Prospect. He worked as a carpenter at All-Phaze Remodeling. Matthew enjoyed motorcycles, dirt bikes, quads and old cars and was an avid football and baseball fan.

In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by two sons, Damien Mason Szyndlar and Emanuel James Szyndlar, and their mother, Tamara Galanti, of Waterbury; a sister, Donna Romajas of Terryville; a brother, Mark Romajas and his wife, Brittany, of Waterbury; his maternal grandmother, Catherine Baummer of Prospect; his paternal grandparents, John and Lorraine Szyndlar of Prospect; two nieces, one nephew and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Clayton Baummer.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect.
