Mary (Czaplicki) Miller

NAUGATUCK — Mary (Czaplicki) Miller, 86, the widow of William V. Miller, Sr., died peacefully on Sept. 1, 2017 at Wolcott View Manor surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born on March 19, 1931 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Raymond and Sophie (Polomski) Czaplicki, and the sister of Robert Czaplicki and his wife, Dawn. Mary worked for many years at Uniroyal, Inc. and retired from General Data Comm. Upon retiring, Mary enjoyed working as a senior companion.

Mary is survived by her three children, Pamela Russo and husband, Michael, Sr., William V. Miller, Jr. and wife, Tammy Sollazzo, Lori Woodfield and husband, Gregory. She is also survived by her grandchildren, William Miller, III and wife, Trish, and family, Alicia Curry and family, Matthew Woodfield and wife, Kristen (Kozloski) Woodfield, and family, Donald Miller and wife, Elizabeth, and family, Michael Russo, Jr. and wife, Ashley, Raechel (Woodfield) Gulick and husband, Craig, and family, Christina Russo and fiancé, Gerard Bisceglie, Kellen Woodfield and wife, Janelle, and family, and Jessica Russo and fiancé, Martin Wyss. In addition, she leaves her nephews, Dean Czaplicki and wife, Ann, and Zachary Czaplicki and fiancé, Shelby Bissonette, as well as many other close friends and family including Kathy Creager-Lupoli and family, who was like another daughter to her. In addition to her husband and her parents, Mary was predeceased by her great-grandson, Derek Smith.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Sept. 11, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Everyone is kindly asked to go directly to church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours, and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.

In lieu of flowers and to honor Mary’s memory, contributions are requested to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
