Mary Ann (D’Onofrio) Manzara

WATERBURY — Mary Ann (D’Onofrio) Manzara, 77, beloved wife of David E. Hotkowski, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

She was born in Meriden on Aug. 10, 1939, daughter of the late Michael and Olga (Olearchik) D’Onofrio. Mary Ann was a longtime resident of Waterbury. At one time, she became the store manager of CVS in downtown Waterbury. Several years later, she worked in the production control department of Plume and Atwood Brass Mill in Thomaston. After the closing of the mill, she owned and operated a small antique shop in East Hampton until her retirement.

Mary Ann played the piano and enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, from the classics to classic rock. She enjoyed traveling, and her favorite places were Gloucester, Mass., and New Orleans, La. Her favorite saint was St. Anthony, to whom she prayed frequently.

Besides her husband, David, of 33 years, she leaves her son, Michael Vitale of Waterbury; brother-in-law, Carl Hotkowski and his wife, Judy, of Wolcott; sister-in-law, Marcia D’Onofiro of Chaplan; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Valarie and Michael Corozza of Qunicy, Mass.; and nieces, Jessica, Taylor, and JoAnn.

All services will be private. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, is assisting the family with arrangements.
