NAUGATUCK — Leo P. Mazzabufi, 83, the husband of Donna Mazzabufi, died peacefully Saturday, June 25, 2016 at his home.
Leo was born on Jan. 7, 1933 in Bridgeport, a son of the late Stanley and Helen (Schlatfer) Mazzabufi. He lived in Naugatuck for the past 30 years, having lived most of his life in Bridgeport. He was a retired employee of General Electric, where he worked as a foreman for many years. Leo loved his family and especially loved making sure that all of the kids were happy. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. Leo was a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 17 in Naugatuck.
Leo is survived by his wife, Donna of Naugatuck, his sons, Keith Mazzabufi and his wife Dauphine of West Haven; Dennis Mazzabufi and his wife Sierra of Woodstock, Vt.; his daughter, Denise Mazzabufi; his sisters, Eva Luperella of Stratford, Mary Lou Varnum of Milford, Marie Brown of Shelton and Eleanor Choate of Trumbull; his grandchildren, Brooke, Aiden and Lily and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leo was predeceased by his brothers, Bill and Jim Mazzabufi.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck. Graveside services and military honors will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the CT Veterans’ Cemetery, 371 Bow Lane, Middletown. Members of the Naugatuck Veterans Council will assemble at the funeral home Saturday at 8:45 a.m.
