NAUGATUCK — Josephine A. Dutkanych, 93, of Naugatuck, beloved wife of the late Andrew Dutkanych, died peacefully on Dec. 20, 2016 at the Glendale Heathcare Center with her family by her side. Born in Choccoloco, Ala. on Dec. 29, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Eunice Morgan Wheeler.

Mrs. Dutkanych worked as a supply room clerk for the Hewitt Health and Rehab Center of Shelton for over 27 years, until the time of her retirement in 1987. She was a former resident of Seymour for over 60 years, a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church and the Ansonia Senior Center. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Deborah Lester of Naugatuck; a daughter-in-law, Helena Dutkanych of Florida; cherished grandchildren, Lisa (Chris) Kuba of West Haven, Andrew (Caroline) Dutkanych III of Indiana and Bradley (Erika) Dutkanych of Florida; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 46 years, she was predeceased by a son, Andrew Dutkanych; a sister and two brothers.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, Dec. 26, 2016 at 9 a.m. from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning, prior to Mass.
