PROSPECT — Mr. John J. Dugan, Jr., 68, of Prospect, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford. He was the husband of Elaine E. (Pronovost) Dugan.
Mr. Dugan was born in Waterbury on Jan. 21, 1947, a son of the late John E. Dugan, Sr. and the late Virginia (Christiano) Dugan. He worked as a truck driver for many years having worked for Bozzuto’s, A.B.F. Trucking and also having owned his own truck.
He was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Prospect and a member of the Waterbury Lodge of Elks #265. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding his motorcycle, telling stories and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who he adored.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Dugan is survived by four daughters, Marianne Dugan-Vallillo of Prospect, Patricia Dugan-Chausse and her husband, Lance, of Waterbury, Marlene Dugan-Cronin and her husband, John, of Naugatuck and Pamela Dugan St. Germain and her husband, Mark, of Prospect; three sisters, Sheila Dugan-Patrick of Waterbury, Diane Dugan-Devit of Prospect and Virginia Dugan-Feliciano of Waterbury; four brothers, Robert Dugan of Waterbury, Dennis Dugan of Waterbury, Gerald Dugan of Waterbury and David Dugan of Prospect, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Denise Dugan and a brother, Donald Dugan.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m.
