BEACON FALLS — John E. Sickola, Jr., 91, of Beacon Falls died suddenly on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 at Beacon Brook Health Care Center in Naugatuck. He was the devoted husband of more than 60 years of Shirley W. (Dyson) Sickola.
John was born on Dec. 10, 1923 in Naugatuck, son of the late John and Mary (Strizak) Sickola.
Mr. Sickola was a dedicated materials handler for over 40 years at Naugatuck Chemical, retiring in 1989 and was a member of the Congregational Church of Naugatuck, UCC and a devoted fan of the UConn Huskies womens basketball team.
He is the beloved father of Cheryl Ann (Sickola) Chesnas of Naugatuck, Shari Lee (Sickola) LeBel and John E. Sickola III, both of Beacon Falls. He was predeceased by his two sisters and his brother.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family.
