NAUGATUCK — Jeanette (Tougas) DeNomme, 83, widow of Joseph A. DeNomme, passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital VITAS Unit surrounded by her family.
Mrs. DeNomme was born in Bridgeport on Aug. 17, 1932, daughter of the late Christopher and Elody Tougas. A longtime resident of Naugtuck, she retired from Peter Paul Company and previously had worked at Bryant Electric in Bridgeport. Jeanette enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, gardening and was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church.
She is survived by her children, David DeNomme and his wife, Sylvia, of Huntington Beach, Calif., Robert DeNomme and his wife, Carol, of Prospect, and Gale DeNomme McIntyre and her husband, Allen, of Naugatuck; three grandchildren, David and Brian DeNomme, and Jessica Falero; and one great-grandson, Oliver Makowski. Jeanette was predeceased by her granddaughter, Ashley McIntyre, and several siblings.
The family would like to thank Paradigm of Prospect and St. Mary’s VITAS Unit for the kind and compassionate care given to Jeanette during her illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck.
