BEACON FALLS — Mrs. Jean L. (Jenkins) Pemberton, 81, of Beacon Falls, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 surrounded by her loving children. She was the widow of Douglas R. Pemberton, Sr.

Mrs. Pemberton was born on Jan. 29, 1935 in Albany, N.Y., a daughter of the late Carl L. Jenkins, Sr. and the late Lorraine Anne (Rowe) Jenkins. She married the love of her life on Aug. 5, 1955 and they raised their 7 children in Beacon Falls. She was retired after working for many years at the Waterbury Police Federal Credit Union and was a former member of the Beacon Falls United Church of Christ. She enjoyed knitting and cooking and loved her dog Maggie. She loved vacations in Maine, reading and dressing to impress and every time that she did, her loving husband would say how beautiful she looked.

Mrs. Pemberton is survived by three daughters, Susan Wisniewski and her husband, Stephen, of Sandy Hook, and Nantucket, Mass., Sandra “Sam” Morrone and her husband, Andy, of Waterbury, and Rhonda Bridschge and her husband, Ron, of Bristol; three sons, Douglas Pemberton, Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Beacon Falls, Christopher Pemberton and Janice of Naugatuck, and William Pemberton of Beacon Falls. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Lennon of Naugatuck. She is also survived by a son-in-law, Cary Lennon of Naugatuck; a sister, Bun (Janet) Dietz and her husband, Bill, of East Greenbush, N.Y.; two brothers:, Carl Jenkins and his wife, Helen, of Raleigh, N.C., and Tom Jenkins and his wife, Tracy, of East Greenbush, N.Y., 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck.
