NAUGATUCK — Janet (Rado) Vollone, 86, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2015 at Regency Heights Nursing Home of Stamford. Janet was the widow of Edward J. Vollone.

Janet was born Aug. 18, 1928 in Naugatuck, a daughter of the late Charles and Jennie (Salinardi) Rado. Janet was raised in Naugatuck and attended local schools and graduated from Naugatuck High School. She was a member of many local clubs, including St. Mary’s Altar Society; and she was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Janet was an avid bowler and swimmer in her earlier years.

Janet is survived by her daughters, Janice Vollone Mendence, of Rome, Ga., and Joan Vollone Porcari of Angers, France; her grandsons, Zach Mendence of Rome, Ga., Eddie Mendence of Maryville, Tenn., and Donnie Mendence of Rome, Ga.; her great-granddaughter, Paislee Mendence of Maryville, Tenn., and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave.
