Janet L. (Scielzo) Anderson, 72, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, after a long illness.
Janet was born on Sept. 16, 1946 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Jerry and Jeanette (Zielinski) Scielzo. She graduated from Bunnell High School in Stratford, worked in retail for many years and was a longtime Naugatuck resident. Janet loved ceramics, tag sales, spending time with family and friends, and the company of her cats, especially Rosie. She was affectionately known as “Cioci” by all.
Janet was predeceased by her brother, Salvatore Scielzo Sr.; her nephew, Salvatore Scielzo Jr.; and her beloved son, Robert Anderson Jr. She is survived by her sister, Patricia (William) Hughes; her grandson, Robert Anderson III, both of Naugatuck; her sister-in-law, Patty Brannigan of Montana; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and caregivers.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck. Burial will be private.
