LEESBERG, Fla. — James C. McMahon, Sr., of Leesburg, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away Aug. 31, 2016. He was the husband of Joan (Hotchkiss) McMahon.

Mr. McMahon was born in New Haven, the son of the late James J. and Grace (Varneau) McMahon. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War. He retired from Drake’s Bakeries in 2000 where he was a route salesman.

Besides his wife of 57 years, Mr. McMahon is survived by his son James C. Jr. of Valrico, Fla.; his five daughters, June Nichols and her husband, Emmet, of Walpole, Maine, Joan Doback and her husband, Charles, Jr., of Naugatuck, Joyce Botti and her husband, Michae,l of Oxford, Jill Musco and her husband, Robert, of Leesburg, Fla., and Janis Chiarenzelli and her husband, Michael, of Cincinnati, Ohio; his 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His sister, Doris M. Gray, passed away on Sept. 12, 2016.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 210 Church St., Naugatuck. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck is assisting with arrangements.
