SEYMOUR — Henrietta Frances Steckert, 95, of Seymour, the beloved wife of the late Joseph Walter Steckert, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was born in Derby on June 17, 1922, daughter of the late John and Michelina Gaduzda Strasinski. Henrietta was a devout communicant of St. Augustine Church of Seymour.

She had been employed by the Kerite Company of Seymour and the Ideal Manufacturing Company of Beacon Falls. Henrietta was an avid homemaker who enjoyed gardening and family gatherings and was very proud of her Polish heritage. She will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts.

Her loving family includes her two caring sons, John Steckert (Karen Foster) of Northampton, Mass. and Robert (Linda) Steckert of Naugatuck; her cherished grandson, Matthew John Steckert of Naugatuck, and her ten nieces and nine nephews. Henrietta was predeceased by her sisters, Stella Waskowicz, Sophie Bryk, Frances Poeta and Jeanette Rowley; and her brothers, Theodore and Walter Strasinski.

A Funeral Service in Celebration of Henrietta’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 9:45 a.m. in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (Route 67, across from Klarides Village), Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:15 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Ave, Seymour. Interment will be in the family plot at St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 8:30 until 9:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in memory of Henrietta may be made to the St. Augustine Cemetery Fund through the funeral home.
