DERBY — Georgette Theresa Doucette, 92, of Derby, beloved wife of the late Joseph Doucette, died peacefully at home on Oct. 9, 2015 surrounded by her family. Born in Fall River, Mass. on Aug. 3, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste and Aurora Lemay Charest.

Mrs. Doucette was a longtime resident of Derby and worked as an inspector for the Shick Safety Razor Co. for over 20 years, before her retirement in 1988. She was homemaker, enjoyed gardening and crocheting as well as spending time with her family.

She is survived by her devoted sons, William Doucette of Beacon Falls, Albert Doucette of Darien, Dennis (Lynn) Doucette of Hamden and Michael (Jennifer Starkey) Doucette of Guilford; sisters, Pauline Omen of Indiana, and Margaret Fennelly of Rhode Island; brothers, Edward (Elsie) Charest of Florida, and Bertrand (Ann) Charest of Massachusetts; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. In addition to her husband of over 50 years, Mrs. Doucette was predeceased by a son, Paul Doucette; grandson, Albert Doucette; sister, Lena Sawill; and brothers, Norman and Lionel Charest.

Funeral services are private. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia, is in care of arrangements.
