
SOUTHINGTON — Florence Dobosz Stauffer, wife of Robert E. Stauffer, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018.
Florence Stauffer was born in Beacon Falls on Feb. 4, 1929, daughter of the late Walter and Alice (Korzeniecki) Dobosz. She was the youngest of six children and was predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Chester and Theodore Dobosz, and her sisters, Helen Estwan and Wanda
Lodziato. Florence was a 1946 graduate of Seymour High School. She lived most of her life in Beacon Falls and Naugatuck, worked at the University of Connecticut Waterbury, and retired from Waterbury State Technical College after 26 years of service. She was a communicant of St. Hedwig’s Church and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She leaves her five children, Rev. Patricia Stauffer of Bradford, Mass., Donna Stauffer (Robert Miller) of Alexandria, Va., Robert A. Stauffer (Wendy) and Karen Pryor (Stephen) of Cheshire, and Barbara McGowan (Jack) of Longmeadow, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Kelly Pryor of Cheshire, Kevin Pryor of Brooklyn, N.Y., Robert Simons of Everett, Wash., Timothy Simons of Springfield, Mass., Nicole Stauffer of Boston, Mass., Taylor Stauffer and Erica Stauffer of Cheshire; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018 at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck. There will be a private graveside service for family members at St. James Cemetery.
