NAUGATUCK — Estelle J. Rogers, 86, of Naugatuck, fell asleep peacefully in death Nov. 7, 2016 at Beacon Brook Health Center. Estelle was born in New York City on Jan. 24, 1930, daughter of the late Allen E. Brown and Helen Talmont.

She was an active member of the West Naugatuck Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many decades, and enjoyed teaching and helping others learn the value of scriptural truths. Estelle also loved reading, working crosswords and jigsaw puzzles, quilting and crocheting. She was a very kind and gentle soul, and always willing to listen with an open and generous heart.

Estelle married the late Fred Violette in August of 1948 and raised three daughters together in Waterbury, CT. After the death of Fred, she married the late John Rogers of West Virginia in September of 1976.

Estelle is survived by two daughters, Sandra L. Baker of Naugatuck, and Susan A. Simpson and her husband, Larry, of Naugatuck, and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Helen; a daughter, Sharon R. White, and her husband, John Rogers.

A memorial talk was held Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 at the Naugatuck Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
