Obituary: Emilia D’Alessandro

WATERBURY — Emilia D’Alessandro, 75, died peacefully Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at her home.

Emilia was born on April 17, 1941 in Italy, a daughter of the late Amedeo and Luigina (Fratelli) Pecorale, and had lived in Waterbury for the past 56 years, where she worked as a seamstress in the bridal industry. Her greatest joy was spending time with her cherished grandchildren and great grandson.

Emilia is survived by her companion and caregiver, Robert Ferry; her daughter, Laura Teach; her son, Jack D’Alessandro; her daughter, Patricia Broderick and her husband, Gary; her grandchildren, Joseph Teach and his wife, Tracey, Lindsey Teach, Sarah Broderick and Jake Broderick; her great-grandson, Nathan Teach; and her brother, Fiore Pecorale. In addition to her parents and her five siblings, Emilia was predeceased by her son-in-law, James “Bowzer” Teach.

The family would like to thank Emilia’s hospice nurse Bridget for the exceptional care she provided.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 785 Highland Ave., Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to please meet at the church. Burial will be private and there are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
