SEYMOUR — David Matthew DeToto, 45, of Seymour, the beloved husband of Aurora Alcantara DeToto, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015. He was born in Alton, Ill. on Feb. 23, 1970, the son of Barbara Ciongoli DeToto and Joseph DeToto.

During his formative years David resided in Perrysburg, Ohio. He was employed as production manager for Taunton Press of Newtown in the Naugatuck Distribution Center. He was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd of Seymour and attended Sacred Heart Church of Southbury and St. Rose of Lima of Newtown. David attended the University of Toledo and was a graduate of Albertus Magnus College of New Haven with a B.S. in business. He was an avid New York Yankee, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers fan who enjoyed biking, swimming and spending time with his family and many friends. David will be sadly missed by all and will forever be in our hearts.

His loving family includes his beloved wife, Aurora, and his cherished daughter, Olivia, both of Seymour; his devoted father, Joseph DeToto, and his wife, Margie, of Ohio, and his devoted mother, Barbara Ciongoli De-Toto, of Texas; his two loving brothers, Anthony DeToto, and his wife, Sandra, and Michael DeToto and his wife, Karen, and their families from Texas; his caring mother-in-law, Dr. Aurora Alcantara, of Connecticut and her daughters, Jen and Aileen Alcantara, Jo and Dr. Jeff Maehl and son of Wisconsin along with several loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends and relatives may call at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., Seymour, Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015 from 4 until 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass in Celebration of David’s life will be held on Thursday, Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Directly following the mass, friends and family are welcome to gather in the Church Hall for refreshments.
