NAUGATUCK — Concetta “Connie” (Gallucci) Mengacci, 98, the widow of Adam T. Mengacci, died peacefully on Aug. 8, 2018 at Middlebury Convalescent Home.

Connie was born in Naugatuck on March 1, 1920, a daughter of the late Gennaro and Gaetana (Trinca) Gallucci, and was a lifelong Naugatuck resident. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved her family deeply and unconditionally. Connie retired from Peter Paul, where she had worked for many years and from 1957-1961. She proudly served as Naugatuck’s First Lady during her husband’s two terms as mayor.

Connie is survived by her sons, Joseph A. Mengacci and his wife, Kathleen; James A. Mengacci and his former wife, Leslie, and John A. Mengacci; her grandchildren, Adam J. Mengacci and his wife, Halley; Paul J. Mengacci and his wife, Cara; James A. Mengacci, Jr. and Michael R. Mengacci; her great-granddaughters, Ella and Mia Mengacci, and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including her devoted niece, Dolores Evans. In addition to her parents and her husband, Connie was predeceased by her brothers, Alfred, John, Eliseo and Pasquale Gallucci, and her sister, Fannie Gallucci.

Connie’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and at Middlebury Convalescent Home for the exceptional care that they provided.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Everyone is kindly asked to please meet at church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours are Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
