WATERTOWN — Cindy Fellows, 59, the wife of Donald W. Fellows, III, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Cindy was born Oct. 15, 1957 in Derby, a daughter of Gordon and Charlotte (Fortune) Ploof, and also leaves behind her brother, Gordon and his wife, Kathy, his sons, Gordon and Corey; and her sister, Sherry, and her daughters, Selena, Miranda and Milania.

Cindy graduated from Naugatuck High School and attended Naugatuck Valley Community College before she became a licensed medical coder. In 1986 Cindy married Don Fellows and they lived in Prospect raising their greatest joys, daughter Amy and son Kyle. Cindy enjoyed gardening, baking and rooting for her favorite teams, the N.Y. Mets, New England Pats and UConn basketball. Cindy and Don spent much time vacationing in Newport, R.I., New Hampshire and visiting relatives in Vermont. She was generous with her time as a United Methodist Church Sunday School teacher and as a secretary for Boy Scout Troop 102, both in Naugatuck. As a supervisor for Gaylord Hospital, Cindy was a diligent worker, always bringing home projects, so to better understand the challenges of health care coding.

Cindy’s family would like to thank the team from Hartford Home Health Care and the doctors and nurses at MidState Hospital.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck. Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
