WATERTOWN — Carole A. (Posila) Franzoso, 72, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday Dec. 20, 2014. She was wife of the late Benedict D. Franzoso.

Carole was born July 17, 1942, a daughter of the late Henry and Henrietta (Majewski) Posila. She was a graduate of Warren F. Kaynor regional Technical School. For more than 50 years, Carole was employed as a beautician in several Middlebury salons.

For more than 30 years, Carole resided in the town of Thomaston. She was a dedicated member of the Thomaston Women’s Club, serving as president and chairing many committees and organizing the annual craft fair with joy and enthusiasm. In addition, Carole was active in the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of Connecticut, participating in many state projects.

Her pastimes encompassed golfing, cooking, gardening, knitting, crafting, traveling near and far, and socializing with friends by the pool. She is dearly missed by family and friends.

Carole leaves her sister, Diane Mazur of Middlebury; her nephew, Sean H. Posila of Brooklyn, N.Y.; her special friend, Lee Ann Anderson of San Diego, Calif.; several cousins, and a plethora of dear friends, acquaintances and Smokey her cat. Besides her beloved husband, Benny, Carole was predeceased by two other special guys; her brother, Henry and brother-in-law, Stanley.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and burial for both Carole and her beloved husband, Benny, on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Old Calvary Cemetery, East Main Street, Waterbury. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
