WATERBURY — Brent E. Westerfield, 53, passed away unexpectedly of diabetes and hyperlipidemia-related issues at his residence on May 21, 2014.
He was born Jan. 2, 1961 to the late Billy R. Westerfield and Violet M. Westerfield- Porto. Brent was born, raised and lived in Florida until 1977 before moving to Connecticut.
Brent was a maintenance worker at Country Manor Health Care Center in Prospect for 16 years until he became disabled and legally blind. He loved to watch football, Nascar, drag racing, and movies; enjoyed computer games, music, animals and yard maintenance.
Besides his mother he is survived by his brother Brian Westerfield; a sister, Marilyn D. Westerfield and her fiancé Michael C. Hitchcock; a niece, Diana M. Green, all of Naugatuck; niece, Kimberly D. Valdes of Miramar, Fla. and his dog Buddy.
Brent’s family thanks friends and the neighbors who befriended and helped Brent in times of and giving Buddy a new home.
Funeral services for Brent are private. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St., is assisting with the arrangements.
