NAUGATUCK — Barbara J. (Schwartz) Rimkoski, 73, loving wife of Robert F. Rimkoski, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2017, at the VITAS unit of St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Rimkoski was born in Waterbury on May 17, 1943, daughter of the late Earl and Olga (Zoimoitel) Schwartz. A lifelong Naugatuck resident, she retired from Edward’s First National Market where she worked for 22 years. Barbara enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Besides her husband of 54 years, she leaves her children, Robert C. Rimkoski and his wife, Sherry, of Wallingford, David S. Rimkoski and his wife, Patricia, of Naugatuck, and Christine Byrne and her husband, Darren, of Southbury; her four grandchildren, Rachel Rimkoski, Jonathan Byrne, Genevieve Rimkoski, and Jacob Byrne; her sister-in-law, Dolores Marchlewski of Naugatuck; her cousins, Conrad Kudzma, Eric Kudzma and Kyrsten Pietrusiewicz; her sister, Arlene Regan of Naugatuck; and her two nieces.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017, from 9 to 11a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Barbara’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
