WATERBURY — Anthony Niles Brancato, 87, passed away at Waterbury Hospital on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Brancato was born in Orange on Feb. 12, 1929, son of the late Salvatore and Mable (Miller) Brancato. A longtime resident of Waterbury, he owned and operated David Auto Sales in Waterbury for many years. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Navy. Anthony enjoyed boating with his family and friends.

He is survived by his son, David Brancato of Waterbury; his daughters, Roberta Daversa, and Lynn Wilkowski and her husband Mark, all of Waterbury, and Christine Torino of New York; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Daniel, Stephen, Thomas and Jade; and his great-grandchildren; his brother, Sal G. Brancato and his wife, Polly, of Branford; his sister, Estelle Franco of Florida; his former spouses, Clare Petrucelli Brancato and Joan Brancato; and many nieces and nephews. Anthony was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Souzo, and his loving stepmother, Nellie Oliano Brancato.

Calling hours for Mr. Brancato will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, followed by a funeral service at 6 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
