Alfred James Languerand Jr.

ANSONIA — Alfred James Languerand, Jr., 40, of Ansonia, beloved husband of Sadie Maraysa Powe Languerand, died on Sept. 3, 2018. Born in Derby on April 15, 1978, he was the son of Alfred James Languerand, Sr. and Marianne Ferla Languerand of Derby.

Mr. Languerand was lifelong Ansonia resident. He graduated in 1997 from Emmett O’Brien Technical High School, and in 2001 he received an AAS degree in graphic design from Gibbs College of Norwalk. Mr. Languerand was employed for 16 years at Stop & Shop of Newtown as an assistant cash department head. He was a member of the Free Masons, America – St. John’s #8 Lodge of Stratford.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by cherished daughters, Delilah J. and Aria G. Languerand of Ansonia; brothers, Rene (Andrea Belline) Languerand of Naugatuck, and Richard (Stacie) Languerand of Waterbury; father-in-law, John S. Powe, Jr. of Ansonia; brother-in-law, Jonathan S. Powe of Illinois; and sister-in-law, Charlotte (Travis) Marxo of Milford. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Billie M. Simko Powe.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018 at 3 p.m., in the America – St. John’s Lodge of Free Masons, 3960 Main St., Stratford. Family and friends may call at America – St. John’s Lodge of Free Masons from 12 to 3 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be private.
