NVCC holding manufacturing open house

WATERBURY — Naugatuck Valley Community College’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center is currently enrolling students for the fall 2012 semester with an expected Advanced Manufacturing Certificate completion date of May 2013.

An information session on the program will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. in Naugatuck Valley Community College’s Technology Hall Room T645.

Students who earn their one-year certificate in Advanced Manufacturing Machine Technology Level II will be qualified to work in machine technology and CNC manufacturing environments.

Additionally, credits earned in this certificate may apply to the College of Technology’s Technology Studies advanced manufacturing degree option, which offers transfer to several four-year universities.

Students who enroll in these programs may be eligible for financial aid. In addition, these certificates are Workforce Investment Act approved and qualify for assistance under the Veterans Retraining Assistance Program.
