NHS teacher selected as Unsung Hero

NHSCOLCHESTER, Vt. — Naugatuck High School teacher Karen Dupre was selected as an Unsung Hero in the Saint Michael’s College Teacher Recognition Program.

This program honors teachers who provide their students with the academic skills and moral support necessary to be successful in post-secondary pursuits.

Karen Dupre was nominated by Danielle Wicks, who is a graduate of Naugatuck High School and a current first-year student at Saint Michael’s College.

“She was fully dedicated to helping her students learn French. She even organized a trip to France, started the French Honors Society and held Immersion days at her house where students participated in everyday French culture and spoke only in French. Merci Madame Dupre, vous avez fantastique,” said Wicks of Dupre.
