NAUGATUCK — A lockdown has been lifted at Naugatuck High School nearly two hours after the school received a bomb threat.

According to police, a bomb threat was called in at about 11 a.m. Thursday. The school was placed in Code Yellow status, which means all students stayed in place within the building. Western School was also placed in a modified lockdown due to its close proximity to the high school, police said.

Connecticut State Police with police canines conducted a sweep of the building and determined that there was no credible threat, police said. Naugatuck police announced shortly before 1 p.m. that the school was cleared and the lockdowns were lifted.

Police are investigating the origin of threat. No further information was available as of this post.
