NAUGATUCK — A grocery store larceny led to the discovery of several warrants.

Borough police responded to Stop & Shop located at 727 Rubber Ave. for a shoplifting complaint on July 15 at about 5:30 p.m. Police officers found Jaclyn Kichar, 38, of Ansonia who attempted to leave in a waiting car after she allegedly shoplifted some items, according to a police press release.

Jamell Savage, 47, of Waterbury; Craig Kichar, 38, of Winchester and Danielle Dimeo, 38, of Winchester, were all in the waiting car. Police was able to stop the car from leaving the parking lot however two of the passengers jumped out of the vehicle and began to run away but were soon caught after a brief chase on foot, the release states.

Police investigation uncovered that Jaclyn Kichar, Dimeo and Craig Kichar all had several outstanding warrants for their arrest. Police arrested all four suspects.

Jaclyn Kichar was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny, sixth-degree larceny, possession of a controlled substance and interfering with an officer. She was issued a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on August 7. She was released to Shelton Police Department for their arrest warrant.

Police charged Dimeo with conspiracy to commit larceny, fifth-degree larceny, possession of a controlled substance, use of a drug paraphernalia and interfering with an officer. She was issued a $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on August 7 and was also released to Shelton Police Department for their arrest warrant.

Savage was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny, released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in court on August 7th. Police charged Craig Kichar with conspiracy to commit larceny, fifth-degree larceny and interfering with an officer. Craig Kichar was issued a $5,000 non-surety bond and appeared in Waterbury Superior Court on July 17. Craig Kichar was also charged with the several outstanding failure to appear warrants which he was held on.

NAUGATUCK — Local, state and federal law enforcement are collaborating on a statewide speeding enforcement scheduled to run July 22 through Sept. 5.

The campaign aims to enforce existing speed limits rigorously and educate drivers about the importance of adhering to the limits. In 2022, the last year of verifiable data, the state recorded 115 fatalities due to speeding and reckless driving.

NAUGATUCK —  The Naugatuck Police Department is bringing back the annual National Night Out event on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Linden Park.
