NAUGATUCK — A new gas station is hoping to open on Rubber Avenue.

Hendels Inc., which operates the Henny Penny gas stations and convenience stores, wants to put a gas station at 704 Rubber Ave. The site had previously been an Exxon Mobil gas station.

The Zoning Commission last month accepted an application for the new gas station.

Zoning Enforcement Officer Ed Carter said the company plans to put a Dunkin’ Donuts in the building along with a convenience store and gas station.

The commission set a public hearing on the application for July 18.

According to the property card, the property is owned by Eugene and Albina Spinola and is appraised at $1.04 million.
