WATERBURY — Naugatuck residents Alexia Dasilva and Angela Rice won their age categories at the 2011 Bob Veillette 5K Road Race and Walk on Sept. 11.

Dasilva, 14, won the female 13-19 category with a time of 25:38. Rice, 27, won the female 20-29 category with a time of 24:01.

The road race and walk benefits Bob Veillette of Naugatuck, a former runner who suffered a debilitating stroke in 2006, and continues to live at home in Naugatuck instead of a nursing home. A total of $18,000 was raised during the event to help pay for Veillette’s care at home.
