BEACON FALLS-An accident on Route 8 in Beacon Falls sent two women to the hospital.

According to a state police accident report, shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 23 Randi Sanchez, 32 of Naugatuck, was driving a 2001 Toyata Sequoia in the right lane of Route 8 when she swerved to the right and collided with the rear bumper of a 2006 Lexus IS 250, which was parked in the shoulder about a tenth of a mile south of exit 25.

Sanchez’s car “vaulted” over the Lexus and rolled over in the right lane of travel, the report stated.

Sanchez and the passenger in the Lexus, 29-year-old Raquel Martins of North Haven, complained of back and neck pain and were taken to Waterbury Hospital, the report stated.

The driver of the Lexus, 24-year-old William Gonzalez of New Haven, wasn’t injured the report said.

All three people were wearing their seatbelts, according to the report. Both cars suffered severe damage and had to be towed away.

The report didn’t specify what caused Sanchez to swerve.
