Naugatuck Valley Health District reports additional COVID cases

The Naugatuck Valley Health District reported Monday there were 12 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday within its jurisdiction.

The health district serves six Valley towns: Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Naugatuck, Seymour and Shelton. The 12 new cases, which were from tests done last week, brought the number of cases in the six towns to 1,848 since March.

Six additional cases were reported in Naugatuck and one in Beacon Falls. There have been 448 confirmed cases in Naugatuck and 60 in Beacon Falls, the health district reported.

The health district reported no new coronavirus-related deaths. There have been 37 confirmed deaths associated with coronavirus and four probable deaths in Naugatuck and none in Beacon Falls.

The Chesprocott Health District reported as of Sept. 18 there have been 88 cases in Prospect and no coronavirus-related deaths.
