NAUGATUCK — The borough is opening its waiting list for Section 8 housing between Aug. 17 and Aug. 21.
The list is part of the Housing Choice Voucher Program, which provides rental assistance to low-income individuals and families living in Naugatuck. People are chosen by a lottery system, so 500 applications will be randomly selected from pre-applications received by mail that are postmarked between Aug. 17 and 21.
Applicants must be 18 years or older to apply, and not exceed income limits listed on pre-application. The pre-applications are available at www.cthcvp.org. They must be downloaded, printed, completed and mailed to: Naugatuck Housing Authority, 16 Ida St., Naugatuck 06770. No phone calls, faxes or emails will be accepted.
