Naugatuck Savings Bank robbed

The Naugatuck Savings Bank on Church Street was robbed Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect, who police described only as a white male, was wearing a printed tee shirt,  jeans and a New York Mets cap when he handed a bank teller a note demanding money, indicating he had a weapon.  An undisclosed amount of cash was given to the thief, and he fled on foot.

Police described the suspect as a white male wearing jeans, a tee shirt and a baseball cap.

The Connecticut Bankers Reward Association is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect. He was last seen walking north on Church Street.
