NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Historical Society is one of more than 1,800 museums across America to offer free admission to military personnel and their families this summer in collaboration with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, and the Department of Defense.
“The Naugatuck Historical Society is proud to be a part of the Blue Star Museum collaborative for the fourth year in a row,” said Wendy Murphy, president of the Naugatuck Historical Society, in a statement.
Free admission to the museum runs through Labor Day.
The Historical Society will officially launch the program on June 6, the anniversary of D-Day, with its monthly First Thursday program. This month’s program is dedicated to military past. On exhibit will be uniforms and medals from some dedicated soldiers and the special story of a particular soldier who was part of D-Day and became a prisoner of war. The program is from 6 to 8 p.m.
