Naugatuck driver killed in head-on collision

CNLogo1WALLINGFORD – A 29-year-old Naugatuck man was killed in a head-on motor vehicle crash at about 10:37 p.m. Friday.

Brandon Genovese was transported to MidState Medical Center in Meriden where he was pronounced dead.

He was driving a 1998 Subaru Legacy, which collided with a 2011 Hyundai Sonata on Cook Hill Road at the intersection with Shelby Drive.

Police are still investigating how the crash occurred.

The driver of the Hyundai, Darin Quagliaro, 17, of Wallingford and his front seat passenger, Justin Cyr, 18, of Middletown, were both transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
