On May 21, a motorcycle ride and picnic will be held to benefit the Home-to-Home-Foundation.

The foundation is a Waterbury-based non-profit organization, founded by critical care pulmonary specialist Dr. Richard Silverman, which works to bring joy and purpose to nursing home residents through volunteerism and extensive community involvement.

The ride is scheduled to leave the VFW in Prospect and end at City Limits Café on Thomaston Avenue in Waterbury. The ride will include visit to two area nursing facilities.

Registration will begin at the Prospect VFW at 9 a.m. and riders will leave promptly at 10 a.m. after the “Blessing of the Bikes”.

A picnic will follow at 1 p.m. at the City Limits Cafe with a barbeque and pig roast, which will feature live music and a bounce house for the kids.

The ride is $20 for riders, $15 for passengers. Picnic only costs $20 and kids under 10 years of age are free.
