NAUGATUCK — The 6th annual Motorcycle Benefit Ride to raise money for the Kacey Rose Foundation will hit the road Sunday.

The fundraiser is organized annually by Moe’s Auto Service owner Moe Shira in honor of his niece, Kacey Rose Mitchell, who died from leukemia.

Kacey died in May 2008 at the age of 2. Her parents, Glen and Kristina Mitchell, started the nonprofit organization a few months later. The foundation raises money to help families with a child battling pediatric cancer to pay for items like medical bills and mortgage payments.

The ride starts at Moe’s Auto Service, 850 Rubber Ave., and goes throughout the area returning to Mr. D’s Tavern, 876 Rubber Ave., for a lunch and party at around 12 p.m. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at Moe’s Auto Service.

The cost is $30 per rider and $10 per passenger. The cost for lunch only is $30 per adult and $10 for each additional family member. Children under 13 years old eat for free. For more information, visit www.kaceyrose.org.
