Men rummage through cars in Prospect

PROSPECT — Police are investigating two separate reports of people going through parked vehicles within minutes of each other at locations less than a mile away.

The incidents occurred on Sept. 14. At 4:23 p.m., police received a report that suspects entered a car in a garage at 23 Trotters Way, according to police. Six minutes later, police received another call from a Southington man reporting that three suspects stole various items from his car, which was parked at 16 Waterbury Road.

The victim in the latter incident described the suspects as three Hispanic males between the ages of 17 and 22, according to police. Police reported they were driving a white Nissan Maxima with a Massachusetts license plate.

The suspects in the earlier incident were also described as Hispanic males driving a Black Audi, VW Passat or Jetta with a Massachusetts license plate.

Police asked anyone with information on the incidents to call the Prospect Police Department at 203-758-6150.

Reports of items being stolen from cars have become commonplace.

Beacon Falls police are investigating the theft of a GPS and a wallet that were stolen from two separate cars at 330 Pines Bridge road in town. The incident was reported on the morning of Sept. 11.
